Broad aims
This employability skills development package is based around the DOTIS model of employability skills development which enables you to develop skills of:
Decision-making

- • Able to identify job opportunities, identify selection criteria and provide evidence of suitability
- • Able to market yourself effectively to employers by producing high quality applications and performing well at interview
- • Able to monitor and evaluate progress and prepare contingency plans
Information skills
- • Able to develop research skills in order to access careers information
- • Able to utilise research skills to identify sources of information and help
Self-awareness

- • Able to identify areas for personal, academic and professional development
Methods of delivery
The content is highly interactive using quizzes, questionnaires, tests and a range of other multimedia resources. There a number of highly reflective exercises and activities included in this package and you are encouraged to discuss the results with your tutor so that you will get more out of it and be able to monitor your progress in terms of becoming an effect career manager.

Finding the right job has never been easy. You have to look for something which enables you to use your strengths, satisfy your aspirations and lets you develop to your full potential. This package is designed to help you do this by taking you through the process from start to finish. The skills you will learn will be useful to you throughout your working life as your career progresses.

- • Learned how to produce a personal careers action plan which you will be able to use to take you to the next step and several steps beyond in your future career
